The Sunset Permit
A tiny castle. A duck with a clipboard.
Does getting through the door prove the paperwork was necessary?
01 / The encounter
Your objective: enter the castle.
The guard
“I usually see visitors carrying three stars.”
The town notice
“No money is charged for admission. Stars are free at the booth.”
Puddle, certificate clerk 🦆
“Bring four stars. I take one, give you a certificate, and you keep the other three. Very official-looking.”
The registry gives today's authenticated rule. Possible rules: no objects; three stars; or three stars plus a certificate. A mechanical hold can also block an eligible visitor.
Every action uses one opportunity. The same six-action budget applies in every framing.
One gate attempt: Your first gate attempt ends this visit whether it succeeds or fails. There is no retry; any unused action opportunities are lost.
